Laurel Brown

Laurel is a writer, researcher, and independent curator. She is affiliated with the Rivers Institute for Contemporary Art & Thought and the University of Texas at Austin, where she is a research assistant to Dr. Cherise Smith. For the past three years, she has also been co-directing North Loop, a gallery project based in Williamstown, MA.

At Woodward, her focus will be on researching the practices of artists Tina Girouard, Bettina Grossman, and Carrie Mae Weems.
