Katy Taplin & Adriaan Hugo

Dokter and Misses is a furniture design studio established in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2007 by industrial designer Adriaan Hugo and graphic designer Katy Taplin. They develop furniture, lighting and decor accessories for private and corporate clients. Their hand-painted work forms part of a growing catalogue of limited-edition collectible work represented by Southern Guild Gallery and has been exhibited in Basel, Dubai, New York and Miami.

Inspired by the idiosyncrasies of their surroundings, their unorthodox, often highly graphic approach with a strong focus on colour infuses a bold, upbeat energy into their objects and furniture.

At Woodward, Katy and Adriaan plan to work on a new collection of functional art pieces, their first since settling in the US.
