Ella Lee Davidson

Ella (she/her) is a Black playwright, actor, and director. She grew up in Upstate New York, but most of her family is based in Brooklyn, where she has lived for the last 6 years. Ella attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she double majored in Dramatic Writing and Drama. Her favorite projects include The Ben Shapiro Project at The Brick Theater as a part of the 2023 Exponential Festival, a show she wrote, directed and played Ben Shapiro- and herself- in.

Ella was recently a Fellow at Fresh Ground Pepper’s 2024 Playground Playgroup, where she finished her newest play, Sapphire, a rumination on the experience of the Angry Black Woman. Sapphire will go up as a week long production at The Brick Theater as a part of the 2025 Exponential Festival.

Ella’s work focuses on comedy, absurdism, and her real and imagined life experience as well as her bizarre pop culture fascinations. At Woodward, she plans to write her first novel in which she hopes to explore the codependent relationship between a bisexual woman and a gay man both learning they will never be famous and are cursed to be normal people.

In her freetime she enjoys being really cool and chill, watching Vanderpump Rules, and loving her cat, Suki.
