Maria Kozanecka

Maria is a visual artist working in painting, illustration, and photography, exploring themes related to memory, materiality, and biography. She’s interested in how we pass down customs and craft while navigating challenges such as absence, distance, ephemerality, and translation.

At Woodward, she plans to work on a visual album of her late mom’s Polish-American cuisine and hospitality, grounded in her Ridgewood upbringing.
