Luisa Minopoli

Born in Hørsholm, Denmark, Luisa holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, where she specialized in the work of Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman. Subsequent studies in philosophy in New York City led her to the thinking of St. Augustine, Henri Bergson, and Emmanuel Levinas, whose ideas greatly enriched her intellectual life.

Her recent work examines Levinas’ critique of Bergson’s notion of durée. She is also working on an article about Akerman’s installation piece, Maniac Shadows (2012). At Woodward, she plans to bring these projects to completion.
