Mitchell Cheng

Mitchell is a Taiwanese-American pianist, composer, and educator based in New York City. He is first and foremost an improviser, and cherishes the surprise and wonder that can occur from a spontaneous musical idea that is expressed directly, in real time. At Woodward, Mitchell will work on a new series of arrangements and compositions for a duo project with bassist Tony Ganier. The recording will pull influence from bebop and 60's Rock.
