Jessie Roy
Jessie is an NYC-based fiction writer, editor, and teacher whose short stories have appeared in American Literary Review and The Journal. She holds an MFA from Syracuse University and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and she is a previous recipient of the James Jones First Novel Fellowship and a nominee for the Pushcart Prize, among other honors. This winter, Jessie is working on a literary fiction novel titled A Woman of My Same Name, about a queer eldest daughter who seeks escape from the pressure of her family responsibilities by assuming the identity of an Irish woman who happens to share her name.
