Cory McAbee

Cory is a writer, director, singer, songwriter, musician, actor, animator and illustrator. His music and films have won awards worldwide. He developed and directed an eight-year global art collaborative, which concluded with the completion of the feature film, Deep Astronomy and the Romantic Sciences. He has given lectures, panel discussions, symposiums and masters classes on art and the collaborative process at conferences and universities throughout the world. In 2020 he began working with green burial grounds and conservation cemeteries to reintroduce native milkweed to their properties as part of a nationwide monarch butterfly restoration project. In 2022 McAbee followed the monarch East Coast migration path from Maine to Florida on a bicycle and hosted tea parties at participating cemeteries as part of this project.

At Woodward, he will be developing a new insect restoration adventure while illustrating a graphic novel and writing a book.
