Zulma Ortiz-Fuentes

Zulma is a Puerto Rican-born writer residing in Ridgewood, NY. She holds degrees from the University of Puerto Rico, New York University, and The New School. Zulma is a former high school English in the New York City public school system.

In 2016, she was awarded an Emerging Writer Fellowship by The Center for Fiction. Her writing has appeared in "Boricua en la Luna: An Anthology of Puerto Rican Voices" and she is a contributor to "Tolstoy Together: 85 Days of War and Peace."

Zulma is currently working on a memoir-in-stories about coming of age in Puerto Rico and the United States during the Vietnam War era.
