Darren Zhu

Darren is a synthetic biologist and metascientist who has worked on a range of biotech startups (including fungal natural products company Hexagon Bio, genome engineering company Enevolv, and diagnostic biosensor company Synbiosys) and research organizations (including the Berggruen Institute, Ethereum Foundation, and Gates Foundation). He is currently exploring a mix of generative AI tools for both biology and filmmaking after working on several short films earlier this year about speculative futures of science and technology.
